First Day of School!! Finally school has begun..but actually i'm not that excited..Right now i wish i had a few more months of holidays. School's scary. Dunno what to expect. And dunno how to do everything..haha..a little confused now. Went for my first lecture today at 2pm - Changing Landscapes of Singapore and after the lecture, like now, i have no idea what i learnt.. The 2 hrs of lecture were spent discussing 'What is Landscape'. And quite a few students came up with complex answers which they wrote in a flowery manner.. like Landscape is how all the elements co-exist with one another and how they are inter-connected...like wth...where do they come up with that..I tried answering the question as well...after 2 min of intense thinking kenn and me came up with 'Landscape is natural or man-made features of our surroundings'. haha... According to the lecturer, landscape has an extremely broad defination. It includes geographical features, how society is organised, how man has affected his surrounding. Landscapes are expressions of cultural values, social systems and individual actions. Landscapes are repositories of a society as different eras of human occupation left specific traces in the landscape that can be detected. wah...According to my OXFORD STUDY Dictionary, Landscapenoun the scenery of a land area hmm....haha...i think i prefer my dictionary's definition right now..at least i can understand it... BUT!!!i shouldn't question it too much...i should accept it..and learn to think like the 'model' students... Tomorrow i am going to the library to read about the changing landscapes of singapore.. After all that's said, i better do a disclaimer..I don't have anything against the lecturer or students..They are kind of interesting.. And if not for them this module won't even exist..
Anyway, after the lecture, we went to munchie monkey's to eat..I had choc brownie..its damn good..i feel like having it right now. And we spent like 2hrs there. Then we went back to the arts forum to go to the coop. I realised that i have to buy textbooks for the lectures..hahh...
My next lecture is on thursday...information systems applications..quite scared that it'll turn out to be tough... My timetable is such that i have one lecture on Monday - Changing landscapes of Singapore 1400-1600 Thursday - Information Systems Applications 1000-1200 Friday - English Language 0800-1000 - Geography 1000-1200 - Economics 1600-1800
